JustSim releases Heraklion International Airport for MSFS

Pilots flying to the island of Crete, in Greece, are in luck in Flight Simulator, with both major airports in the island now fully rendered by a third-party developer. Aerosoft launched Chania Airport a few months ago, and now it’s JustSim to release the island’s busiest airport: Heraklion International Airport (LGIR).

Heraklion airport is actually the second busiest in the entire country, after Athens International Airport. It’s both a civilian and a military airbase, located about 5km east from Heraklion, and it’s due to be replaced by a new airport that is currently under construction, looking for an inauguration in 2025.

LGIR is busier in summer, when airlines from all over Europe come to bring thousands of tourists.

JustSim doesn’t provide many details about the features of this new airport, but from the images that were made available, we can see a detailed rendition of the airport, as the developers got us used to with their other recent releases. Interestingly, it seems that they’ve worked outside the airport too, with custom buildings in the surroundings that definitely give a certain greek architecture vibe.

Heraklion International Airport from JustSim is now available for MSFS for around 20€. Existing owners of this airport for P3D and X-Plane are also eligible for a very nice discount when buying this new version for MSFS.
