iniBuilds Airbus A380 Airliner

At a glance
Where things stand
iniBuilds first announced the A380 back in 2019 as an X-Plane project, shelved it, and then confirmed in late 2023 that it would be rebuilt from scratch for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The superjumbo returned as the studio’s next major aircraft in March 2026, got its first trailer in June, and finally landed on the MSFS 2024 Marketplace on September 15, 2026.
iniBuilds says the A380 was feature-complete at launch, with post-release work focused on fixes and quality-of-life improvements. So far, that is how it has played out. Version 1.0.1 arrived a week after launch with a long list of fixes and an opt-in crash reporting tool, versions 1.0.2 and 1.0.3 followed together on October 8, version 1.0.4 arrived on October 15, and version 1.0.5 followed on October 22 with a short list of fixes. A week later, version 1.0.6 kept the weekly rhythm going with fixes to ECON speed, CPDLC requests and the gear doors, plus a new OIS boot time option.
It is not the only A380 in the sim. FlyByWire’s A380X is free, although only on PC and outside the Marketplace, and LatinVFR’s A380-800 arrived in June at $39.49. At £54.99 before tax, iniBuilds’ version sits in a more premium tier, just below the price of its own A350.
Our review
We called the A380 a fully functional, feature-complete and polished product in our review, and wrote that we didn’t think iniBuilds had launched anything this stable and finished before.
- The detail of the model, inside and out, and a cabin that is sometimes almost absurdly detailed
- A systems list that lives up to the “feature complete” promise
- The choice between Batch 2 and Batch 7 avionics
- The Jump Ahead feature for long flights
- Realistic non-normal procedures
- Integration with GSX, SimBrief, Navigraph and BeyondATC
- A dynamic sound set and a strong list of liveries
- High VRAM usage that can hurt performance
- A couple of WASM crashes during testing
- Some stutter in ground animations and camera glitches when zooming out
- Slightly sluggish handling, mainly in roll
- No taxi camera (a free mod now adds one)
What to expect
iniBuilds describes the A380 as its most complex simulation to date, and a single purchase covers a wide spread of real-world configurations: two engine types, two avionics standards and two cabin layouts. Here is the scope at a glance, based on what iniBuilds has published and what we saw in the developer deep dive.
Two engines, two behaviors
Batch 2 or Batch 7
Failures and situations
Modern Airbus tools
Planning and ground ops
Two cabins and a shower
A big jet to handle
Built around frame times

Around the A380
- Multi-jetways: iniBuilds’ multi-jetway system connects several jet bridges to the A380 at supported gates. It debuted with Chicago O’Hare and has since reached Hong Kong, London Gatwick and New York JFK. Doha Hamad joined on October 17 with version 1.1.0, which adds the feature to every gate, and Manchester followed on October 26 with version 1.2.0, at selected gates in Terminals 1 and 2. GSX Pro now recognizes the feature too.
- Liveries: 17 launch liveries are available through the iniManager, covering Air France, British Airways, Emirates, Etihad, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, Qantas, Singapore Airlines and Korean Air, plus special schemes.
- Taxi camera: the A380 doesn’t have one, but a free community mod adds a PFD taxi camera and supports it.

iniBuilds A380: quick answers
How much does the iniBuilds A380 cost?
£54.99 before tax, roughly $75. That puts it just below iniBuilds’ own A350, which sells for £59.99.
Is the iniBuilds A380 available for MSFS 2020?
No. The A380 is an MSFS 2024 title only, a change from the A350, which was released for both simulators.
Where can I buy the iniBuilds A380?
On the MSFS 2024 in-game Marketplace, as a timed exclusive for now. Versions through the iniBuilds store and iniManager are expected to follow later.
Is the iniBuilds A380 on Xbox or PS5?
During the September developer deep dive, iniBuilds said the Xbox build was already in testing and running well. For PlayStation 5, the studio said it would like to bring the aircraft over but has some hurdles to clear first.
What is the latest version of the iniBuilds A380?
Version 1.0.6, released on October 29, 2026. See the update history above for what changed.
Which engines does the iniBuilds A380 include?
Both real-world options: the Rolls-Royce Trent 900 and the Engine Alliance GP7200, each with its own behavior and sounds.
How does the iniBuilds A380 perform?
It is demanding. Our review found high VRAM usage, so expect to adjust some graphics settings. iniBuilds offers a performance mode and an optional no-cabin mode, and says it targets performance close to its A350.
Does the iniBuilds A380 have a taxi camera?
No. The button even carries an INOP sticker in the cockpit. A free community mod adds a PFD taxi camera and supports the iniBuilds A380.
How does it compare with the FlyByWire and LatinVFR A380s?
FlyByWire’s A380X is free but only available on PC, outside the Marketplace. LatinVFR’s A380-800 costs $39.49 and supports MSFS 2020 and 2024. iniBuilds’ A380 sits in a more premium, feature-rich tier at a higher price.
