Just over a week after the A380 Airliner landed on the MSFS 2024 Marketplace, iniBuilds has released its first update. Version 1.0.1 brings a long list of fixes, which is what the developer said to expect: iniBuilds described the A380 as feature-complete at launch, with post-release work focused on fixes and quality-of-life improvements.
The most notable addition is a new optional crash reporting tool. WASM crashes were a well-known problem with the A350 at launch, and we also ran into a couple during the first flights for our A380 review. On first load of v1.0.1, a pop-up will explain the system and let you enroll. If enabled, the A380 sends a diagnostic report to the development team whenever an aircraft systems module crashes, including the add-on version, the failed component, technical counters, aircraft position, flight plan and the latest portion of the diagnostic log.
On the systems side, several of the fixes concern go-arounds, with VNAV, BTV and autobrake no longer breaking after one, and the 100 ft callout no longer triggering incorrectly. iniBuilds also fixed thrust reversers that accelerated the aircraft instead of slowing it down, engines revving up and down while holding speed on approach, and a DTO function that could wipe part of the flight plan. The developer adds that some users who had stutters during takeoff and landing may find they no longer occur.
Among the art changes, the cockpit lighting no longer briefly appears fully illuminated when returning from an exterior view, the water service panel is now operable, and two missing GPU cables have been added. iniBuilds also says the A380 is now compatible with WINCTRL hardware, although it didn’t specify which devices.
One important note: several liveries were corrected, and iniBuilds asks users to update theirs to versions compatible with v1.0.1. These are available through the iniManager, so if you downloaded the launch liveries early, grab the new versions.
