Golden Age Simulations launching the Boeing Stearman for MSFS this fall

The classic Boeing Stearman, one of the most recognizable biplanes in history, is soon to receive another release in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Following DC Designs, who released their version of this iconic aircraft back in 2021, Golden Age Simulations (GAS) is now preparing to introduce their own vision of this airplane to MSFS. GAS is focusing on the Stearman PT-17 and PT-13 variants and aims for a fall release of this package.

The GAS Stearman will feature both the PT-17, powered by a Continental engine, and the PT-13, equipped with a Lycoming radial engine. Although the product is still in its alpha testing phase, work is said to be “proceeding apace,” heightening expectations for a polished final product.

Some may ask, “Does MSFS need another Stearman?” Well, Golden Age Simulations has a proven track record with this particular aircraft, having previously developed it for FSX and P3D. Moreover, there’s always room for another high-quality rendition of any aircraft, especially if it offers something new and more compelling than what’s currently available.

GAS has announced that this will be a payware release, although no pricing details have been provided yet. For those interested in a closer look, a 20-minute video is available that showcases an early version of the product in the simulator.

Captured during the alpha testing phase, the aircraft seen in the video is likely to see many improvements before the official launch but still offers a comprehensive overview of the modeling, textures, sounds, and overall flying experience. Watch it below and stay tuned for further news about this classic in the coming weeks!
