IndiaFoxtEcho provides development update on Tornado, Tomcat, and more

IndiaFoxtEcho continues to work on several quite interesting new military airplanes for Microsoft Flight Simulator, which include the much-anticipated F-14 Tomcat, co-developed with Heatblur Simulations, and the Panavia Tornado.

Last time we heard from the team they had just released a spectacular teaser video of the Tomcat in flight, while the Tornado had met significant delays due to the decision to completely re-do the cockpit. Now, IndiaFoxtEcho has issued a new status update that provides new insights into the current stage of a few projects the team has been working on.

The Tornado

The team at IndiaFoxtEcho has been focusing particularly on the F-14 Tomcat and the Tornado as they are the closest to completion. The developers have shared a couple of screenshots of a low-level flight over the English countryside, showcasing their progress on the Tornado.

The Tornado package will include the IDS, GR.1, and ECR models. Despite requests for an F3 / ADV model, the team has decided not to include it in the initial release due to structural differences and less documentation compared to the other variants. However, they did not rule out the possibility of including it in future updates.

The external model of the Tornado is finished, with the payload and model variations nearing completion. The cockpit, which was previously deemed unsatisfactory in terms of quality, is being entirely redone. The team hopes to showcase the pilot cockpit in a couple of weeks and estimates that a Beta version may be ready by early September.

The F-14 Tomcat and other projects

IndiaFoxtEcho is also making significant progress on the F-14 Tomcat project, developed in partnership with Heatblur Simulations. The project is nearing its Beta testing phase, with no release date planned yet as it will depend on the test results and the number of bugs that need to be addressed. The USS Forrestal supercarrier will be part of the package

The TA-4J Skyhawk, while moving forward, is experiencing significant delays. The team plans to share new screenshots of the model’s progress in a month or so. As for the Eurofighter Typhoon, it’s currently on hold as the team focuses on the Tornado. However, the team hinted at some exciting news related to the project that they cannot disclose at the moment.

The F-16A Falcon project is also progressing, with the possibility of expanding the project scope to include other variants. Updates to the F-35, T-45C, and MB.339 are being worked on and should be available sometime in August.

So, there you have it. The team at IndiaFoxtEcho continues to push forward on several fronts, with a special focus on the F-14 and the Tornado, which we expect will see the light of day before the end of the year. For now, enjoy the new images and stay tuned for further updates from Dino Cattaneo & Co. in the coming weeks!
