Microsoft takes another step toward a smaller Marketplace backlog with 124(!) new releases this week

Microsoft Flight Simulator received this week one of the biggest updates yet to its Marketplace, featuring a plethora of new add-ons that have been waiting for a release in the in-sim store. This long list of new products ranges from aircraft and liveries to airports, scenery, and missions, and is an important step toward clearing the long list of add-ons currently sitting in the backlog (900 right now, compared to more than 1,000 last week!).

Among the most notable releases this week are the much-awaited PA28 series from Just Flight, which includes the Arrow III, Turbo Arrow III/IV, and Warrior II. Each of these packages has been available for around two years for PC only, and have now found their way to the Xbox. Price: $44.99 for each package.

Another exciting addition comes from AzurPoly with their Transall C-160, a versatile military transport aircraft that’s now available on both PC and Xbox for $32.99.

Those looking to get their hands on a bunch of custom new airports are especially lucky this week, with dozens of new additions to the Marketplace. Some highlights in this category include Memphis International Airport (KMEM) and Sky Harbor Phoenix International Airport (KPHX) by BMWorld & AmSim, as well as Redwing’s impressive list of historical 1935 versions of 17 popular airports like Chicago’s Midway International (KMDW), New York’s LaGuardia (KLGA), and Philadelphia International (KPHL), among others. Each of these airports offers a unique glimpse into aviation history and provide a fascinating contrast to their modern counterparts.
