The big surprise today was Aerosoft quietly putting its base-pack A330-900neo on sale for MSFS 2024. The more consequential news for systems-focused simmers, though, sat a few paragraphs lower in the same statement: Aerosoft and ToLiss are working together again, this time on an A330 NEO Pro.
For anyone who followed the A330’s long road, this is the version a good part of the community has been asking for. When the base pack appeared, a common reaction was some form of “why not do this with ToLiss, like the A340?” Aerosoft used the announcement to answer that directly, confirming that a ToLiss-built A330 NEO Pro is now in the works for MSFS 2024, separate from the in-house base pack out today.
The Aerosoft and ToLiss A340-600 Pro arrived in March and landed to a strong reception. It brought ToLiss’s reputation for deeper Airbus systems, custom fly-by-wire and extensive failure modelling to Microsoft Flight Simulator, with ToLiss handling the systems and flight model while Aerosoft produced the visuals and publishing. A Pro-grade A330neo built to the same recipe would give one of the most popular Airbus widebodies a genuine high-fidelity option.
Now the important part: this is an announcement of intent, not a product with a date. Aerosoft described it as the start of a long journey, with no release window and, obviously, no price attached yet. The company also pointed out that ToLiss is busy with its A350 collaboration for X-Plane, and that there is still a sizeable list of A340-600 Pro updates to finish before the A330neo Pro moves forward. So this is real, but it is not close.
That leaves Aerosoft with a bit of a convoluted Airbus product line. The base pack is out now for pilots who want an accessible twin at €29.99, the older ceo is set to be overhauled up to the neo’s technical standard, and a ToLiss Pro sits at the top of the range for those who want the deeper simulation.
