AzurPoly has officially confirmed their next exciting project for Microsoft Flight Simulator: the SEPECAT Jaguar. Following the well-received release of the OV-10 Bronco, AzurPoly is turning its attention to this iconic Anglo-French jet attack aircraft, adding yet another military aircraft to their MSFS repertoire.
It was just a week ago that AzurPoly teased their new project, sharing an image of a distinctive landing gear that the community quickly identified as belonging to the SEPECAT Jaguar. Now, the developer has provided more details about this upcoming addition to their lineup.
A Return to French Aviation Heritage
AzurPoly stated: “After our OV-10 Bronco, we decided to go back to historical French aircraft by tackling the famous Jaguar, to complete our lineage started with the Fouga Magister and the TB-30 Epsilon.”
The initial focus will be on the Jaguar A, the single-seat version operated by the French Air Force from 1973. AzurPoly has mentioned that while the exterior 3D model is already well-advanced, much work remains on other aspects of the aircraft. No release date has been set as the team continues to develop this project.
In response to questions about other versions of the Jaguar, AzurPoly clarified, “Other Jaguar versions are very different (two-seat or different avionics for other armies), hence we are first concentrating on the Jaguar A. We will decide later if we develop other versions.” They hinted at the possibility of creating different exterior models with a shared interior, similar to their approach with the Transall.
AzurPoly is committed to maintaining high standards for their aircraft, aiming to provide an authentic and immersive experience for MSFS users. To achieve this, they have access to retired Jaguars for detailed 3D scans and sound recordings, which will hopefully ensure the highest level of accuracy in their model.
The developer also welcomes contributions from the community, particularly from former pilots or mechanics who have experience with the Jaguar.
