April 30 set as tentative launch date for Sim Update 15

Anticipation continues to build within the flight simulation community as everyone eagerly awaits the release of the highly anticipated Sim Update 15. Following a delay in March, new details emerged today from the MSFS headquarters, indicating a new tentative release date set for April 30.

Sim Update 15 was initially slated for release on March 26 but was postponed mere hours before its deployment. The development team cited the necessity for additional time to address specific issues that emerged during the beta testing phase. Though not explicitly detailed, the ongoing adjustments to the iniBuilds A320neo – a key addition in the update – have been highlighted as a significant factor.

Clearly, there is still considerable work to be completed on Sim Update 15, as evidenced by the tentative release date set for more than two weeks away. While there is no certainty that this target will be met, the specified date provides a measure of reassurance that the update is on the horizon and nearing completion.

The G3X Touch is getting a major overhaul from Working Title in SU15.

The upcoming Sim Update 15 promises several enhancements that have stirred excitement among MSFS simmers. Notable upgrades include major performance improvements, particularly for glass cockpits, the introduction of the G3X Touch, and expanded support for multi-rotor aircraft. Additionally, simmers can expect improved snow coverage among other aesthetic and functional improvements.

There’s also, of course, that much-awaited new Airbus A320neo, developed by iniBuilds to become the new default standard offered for free on the platform.

Looking forward, the extended wait until April 30 may be a necessary step to enhance the overall experience for the end users. With a long testing phase under beta and the considerable delay compared to the original planned release date, there are high expectations for stability and polish in the final version of Sim Update 15. Time will tell, but we’ll have to wait out a bit more!
