Indiafoxtecho shares first image of the F-35 Lightning II for Flight Simulator

Indiafoxtecho is back with another military jet for MSFS. After the successful release of the Aermacchi MB-339, and with the upcoming T-45C not too far away (currently under beta testing), the Italian developer has now announced the development of the highly advanced F-35 Lightning II for MSFS.

With the announcement, the developers were immediately honest about the challenges in creating such a complex aircraft for Flight Simulator. In fact, there’s a confession that delivering a “decent product” here will be very difficult, given that MSFS is not the ideal platform for this aircraft with its lack of air-to-air and air-to-ground mapping mode, infrared targeting, and more.

In the end, the result will be an aircraft that will look cool, with a modern cockpit, with which you’ll be able to fly around and impress your friends, but not much more. That’s not exactly a bad thing, since MSFS is really just a civilian simulator, and “flying around looking cool” is what many simmers do anyway.

Work has just started, so Indiafoxtecho says that we shouldn’t expect a release any time soon. Probably some 3/4 months until it sees the light of day, but time will tell.

In either case, the F-35 is an absolute engineering marvel, and realistically represented or not, if it looks great and flies well, we’re sure it will make many people happy!

The real F-35 definitely looks very menacing.
