Rara-Avis Sims releases the Horten Ho 229 for Microsoft Flight Simulator

Rara-Avis Sims has released an intriguing new aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator that takes us back to the most revolutionary designs from World War II: the Horten Ho 229.

The Horten Ho 229 was one of the earliest examples of a flying wing and is often cited as a precursor to modern stealth aircraft. Developed by the German brothers Reimar and Walter Horten, the aircraft was designed to be fast and hard to detect on radar, featuring a unique all-wing structure without a distinct fuselage or tail.

Although it never went past the prototype stage due to the end of the war, the Ho 229 has remained a subject of fascination due to its innovative design and technological advancements. It is uncannily similar to the B-2 Spirit!

  • Advanced Systems Simulation: The model includes a functioning oxygen system, working circuit breakers, and detailed engine menus for the historic Junkers Jumo 004 engines, which were the world’s first production turbojet engines. Engine heat glow effects, custom engine smoke, and toggleable engine flames add a visceral touch to the experience!
  • Immersive Experience: Pilots will appreciate custom cameras and animations linked to the control stick, rudder pedals, landing gear, and flaps.
  • Full VR Compatibility

This is, without a doubt, a fascinating aircraft that you can now fly in Microsoft Flight Simulator courtesy of Rara-Avis Sims.

The Horten Ho 229 is available now from iniBuilds for around $20.00.
