BMWorld and AmSim release San Diego International Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator

KSAN holds the unique distinction of being the busiest single-runway airport in the world.

BMWorld and AmSim have released their latest collaborative project: San Diego International Airport (KSAN) for Microsoft Flight Simulator. It’s the latest in a series that includes Colorado Springs, Phoenix, Oakland, among other airports.

San Diego International Airport, formerly known as Lindbergh Field, is located just three miles northwest of Downtown San Diego, California. Owned and operated by the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, the airport spans 663 acres and ranks as the third busiest airport in California in terms of passenger traffic.

KSAN holds the unique distinction of being the busiest single-runway airport in the world. Pilots often find the airport’s landing approach challenging due to its close proximity to Downtown San Diego’s skyscrapers, a relatively short usable landing area, and steep descent angles over Bankers Hill. The airport operates in the controlled airspace served by the Southern California TRACON, making it part of some of the busiest airspace globally.

LatinVFR released their version of KSAN just a few months after the launch of MSFS in 2020, so we’re likely to see some marked improvements from BMWorld and AmSim in this new version.

KSAN San Diego International Airport from BMWorld and AmSim is now available from Orbx Direct, priced at around $19.00 USD.
