It is out! After a development run that goes back to 2024, Taog’s Hangar has released the AS365 N2 Dauphin and HH-65A Dolphin, and the studio is calling it the most complete twin-engine helicopter it has ever built for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The package went live today on the MSFS 2024 Marketplace as an exclusive, priced at 54.99 euros.
If you have been following along, none of this is a surprise. We covered the Dauphin back in April, when the studio was still dropping work-in-progress shots, and even then the picture pointed to something larger than a typical helicopter release. The aircraft is in hangars now, and the feature list the developer has published is a long one.
Two airframes, nine variants
At the centre of the package are two distinct airframes. The AS365 N2 Dauphin is the civilian side of the family, the fast twin-engine Aérospatiale design used around the world for passenger and VIP transport, offshore work, and search and rescue. The HH-65A Dolphin is its U.S. Coast Guard counterpart, a short-range recovery helicopter that has flown maritime rescue missions for decades.
Taog’s Hangar says both share the same lines and the same Fenestron shrouded tail rotor but carry their own cockpit layouts, avionics, and mission systems. The full lineup runs to nine variants, covering passenger, VIP, cargo, long-nose, and SAR configurations across both types, with around 60 liveries included.
That ambition fits where Taog’s Hangar sits in the helicopter community. The studio’s Hughes 500C and OH-6A pack was the first third-party helicopter built natively for MSFS 2024, and it went on to become one of the highest-rated rotorcraft on the Marketplace. The SA315B Lama, plus the Alouette III and Huey, rounded out a catalogue with a solid reputation for flight models and sound work.
The Dauphin is a clear step up in scope from any of those, a two-airframe package rather than a single helicopter, and the price reflects that.
About the flight model
On the flight model, the developer says the aircraft was tested for months and vetted by real-world AS365 pilots, and that the package introduces a true four-blade main rotor with independent per-blade flapping animation, which it describes as a first for MSFS 2024 helicopters. The studio also says the AFCS and autopilot systems were modelled from primary Aérospatiale and U.S. Coast Guard documentation.
Underneath that, the two variants are built differently. The developer says the AS365 N2 runs an AP155 autopilot and CDV 85 coupler alongside functional electrical, fuel, hydraulic, engine, and rotor systems, while the HH-65A adds its own AC/DC electrical architecture and a four-axis AFCS paired with the FDS-255 flight director, with modes for speed, heading, altitude, vertical speed, approach, hover, and go-around. Fuel and engine handling differ between the two as well, down to crossfeed, jettison, and rotor brake behaviour.
A mission kit
Mission flying is a big part of the pitch. The developer says both helicopters support hoist operations, cargo release, water drops for firefighting, emergency floats, and searchlight control. The HH-65A carries dedicated hoist control logic for SAR work. An in-cockpit tPad handles configuration, weight and balance, and equipment loadouts, and a custom keybinding set covers home cockpit hardware, collectives, and Stream Decks. Both Career Mode and MilTech Mission Hub are supported.
Premium pricing
The AS365 N2 Dauphin / HH-65A Dolphin is available now, exclusively on the MSFS 2024 in-sim Marketplace, priced at 54.99 euros. At this price, the Dauphin is well above what Taog’s Hangar has charged for its single-helicopter releases, and it is near the top of the helicopter category in general. The counterargument the package makes for itself is volume: two cockpits, nine variants, and a mission kit that spans civilian transport through Coast Guard rescue.
