Black Square releases highly anticipated Turbine and Piston Dukes for Microsoft Flight Simulator
The day is finally here! Black Square and Just Flight have officially launched what is one of the most anticipated aircraft releases this year for Microsoft Flight Simulator: the Piston Duke and Turbine Duke. After much anticipation and a comprehensive beta testing phase, these models are now available for purchase either individually or through a cost-effective bundle.
Black Square’s Piston Duke, priced at €42.95, is modeled after the 1974 Beechcraft Duke and features advanced simulations of piston engine dynamics, including realistic starting and propeller feathering influenced by detailed physics-based models.
The Turbine Duke, also available for €42.95, offers a robust simulation of turboprop dynamics, including complex engine failures and advanced electrical systems. Both models showcase Black Square’s commitment to “Unapologetic Realism” and feature some of the most advanced systems simulations available in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Black Square offers a bundle of both the Piston and Turbine Duke for €59.95, representing a significant savings over purchasing each model separately. Each aircraft comes equipped with a suite of modern and vintage avionics, customizable panel options, and detailed engine and aircraft failure modes, ensuring a challenging and immersive flying experience.
Both aircraft feature extensive customization options, including interior designs reflecting different decades and comprehensive avionics suites that cater to a variety of flying preferences. The external appearance of the aircraft is just as customizable, with various liveries available and interactive elements like removable engine covers and animated pitot covers.
The sounds promise to be another highlight of this package. Boris Audio Works is responsible for the sound set, and everything points to it being one of the most impressive works yet from Boris Vanian.
Black Square was waiting for Sim Update 15 to be released before launching the Dukes, as some features depend on that new platform version. But, despite the delay of SU15, which affects ground handling physics and the Working Title GNS 530/430 GPS, Black Square has released the Duke to meet community demand.
The aircraft installers will query users about their installation of the SU15 Beta, allowing those without it to enjoy the models with limited restrictions. This decision ensures that all simmers can enjoy the new aircraft immediately, with the option to update their systems once SU15 is available.
