Heatblur Simulations and IndiaFoxtEcho release the F-14 Tomcat for MSFS

The much-awaited F-14 Tomcat, the highly anticipated collaborative effort between IndiaFoxtEcho and Heatblur Simulations, has finally made its grand entrance into Microsoft Flight Simulator. This release is a significant milestone for both developers, marking Heatblur’s inaugural foray into Microsoft Flight Simulator, in partnership with the seasoned IndiaFoxtEcho team.

This high-fidelity aircraft add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator promises to beautifully encapsulate the essence of the legendary F-14 Tomcat. The aircraft, a two-crew, variable geometry, maritime air superiority fighter, boasts a storied history, having served with the US Navy for over three decades. Its roles over the years have evolved from a frontline fighter to a precision ground-attack platform and a reconnaissance asset. The F-14 Tomcat is well-known for its participation in critical historical events, including the Gulf of Sidra incidents, Operation Desert Storm, and the Iran-Iraq war in the 80s.

The Heatbluer/IFE F-14 Tomcat comes with an array of features that promise an exciting and very immersive experience for MSFS simmers.

The external and internal models of the aircraft have been meticulously crafted using laser scanning and photogrammetry from real F-14 Tomcats housed in various museums. The flight model and the avionics systems modeling are highly detailed, aiming to offer an authentic flying experience. Both the A and B models of the Tomcat, equipped with Pratt & Whitney TF-30 and General Electric F110 engines respectively, are included in this simulation.

One of the highlights of this package is the integration of JESTER AI, an AI backseater, designed to assist in single-player mode, enhancing the realism of flying the F-14. The AI handles certain operations, allowing pilots to focus more on the flying aspects.

The Heatblur/IFE F-14 Tomcat for Microsoft Flight Simulator is priced at $34.99, and there’s a special offer for DCS: F-14 owners who can avail a $10 discount, bringing down the price to $24.99.
