SimWorks Studios’ Pilatus PC-12 for Microsoft Flight Simulator has been released and is now available for purchase for €24.99.

The aircraft is SimWorks Studios’ most ambitious undertaking yet, and was developed in collaboration with Pilatus Aircraft and Fly7 Executive Aviation.

The PC-12 is currently only available for PC due to a bug on the Xbox version, however SimWorks Studios has said it hopes to resolve this as soon as possible. The addon can be purchased from the SWS website, however will also be available from Contrail, SimMarket and iniBuilds soon.

As part of the addon’s development, the SWS team was “flown in the PC-12 and then spent a week training in the PC-12 simulator at the Fly7 Training Center, in Lausanne, Switzerland.” The team added: “Being able to experience first-hand how the real aircraft handles, we strived to recreate it as closely as MSFS allows.”

The PC-12 for MSFS features 13 liveries, covering executive, cargo, and commuter configurations, more than 2,800 sounds recorded from the real aircraft, and a comprehensive 65-page manual. The cockpit and cabin are recreated in a high level of detail, including functional sun visors and shades, gust lock, armrests, stick shaker, and, according to the product page, a flushing toilet.

A range of custom systems are modelled as part of the addon, including:

  • Custom EFIS50.
  • Revue Thommen DC20 Chronometer.
  • Custom aileron-rudder interconnect system.
  • Custom yaw damper.
  • Stick shaker and pusher.
  • Environmental Control System.
  • Cabin Pressurisation Control System.
  • Usable circuit breakers.

SWS notes in the manual that the PC-12 will continue to receive free updates in the future, with the roadmap including an SWS Tablet. This will feature aircraft logs (per tail number), aircraft persistent state saving (per tail number), flight planning, weight & balance, a PDF reader and charts, a walkaround, and other controls.
