iniScene announces Detroit Metro Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator

iniScene revealed today a new airport project for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Detroit Metro Airport (KDTW), the largest airport in the US state of Michigan, is now under development by iniBuilds’ sister studio and is set for a release in the not-so-distant future!

Following the success of the brilliant Airbus A310 that just launched for free with the 40th Anniversary Edition of MSFS, iniBuilds is looking to capitalize on the popularity of that airliner by offering simmers a wider variety of equally high-quality airports. The team will put the learnings with the creation of LAX into good use, adding a big new US international airport to their existing portfolio for MSFS.

Detroit Metro Airport is not only a major infrastructure in Michigan but also an important hub for Delta Airlines, which uses KDTW to serve dozens of international destinations (many in Asia) and most of the remainder US states.

Based on feedback from previous releases, iniScene is improving some of the features of this new airport, in order to provide a better experience for users. This will include proper jetway connections to the terminal, along with custom ground services equipment and taxi signs, high-resolution textures, and more.

Furthermore, the development team is also implementing some bells and whistles in this package, such as an animated train and fountain, de-icing statistics related to GSE, and more. Those who don’t wish to see these features or would prefer a lighter scenery on the system will be happy to know that iniManager will enable users to set some scenery customization options, such as enabling static aircraft and people or selecting between SD/HD textures. This is certainly a welcome feature that shows iniBuilds’ attention to customer requests and feedback.

Interestingly, Orbx has also announced their own intention to bring KDTW to MSFS in the near future. It will be interesting to see how both sceneries will compare, especially knowing they’re coming from two of the most influential and talented development studios around!

Finally, iniBuilds also revealed that two of their popular existing products, EGLL and KLAX, continue to be supported and will soon get an update that will attempt to improve performance and improve some key areas in each product.

iniBuilds didn’t provide a release estimate or pricing for KDTW, but it should be just a matter of weeks for the product to come out. As always, we’ll let you know once we have more information about this. In the meantime, make sure to watch the teaser trailer above and the first selection of official images to get an idea of what this stunning scenery is all about!
