Helicopters are getting popular in Flight Simulator: Bell B47G announced by FlyInside

You must have noticed that helicopters aren’t really a thing in MSFS. At least, not officially, but the third-party community is working to fix that problem. After the successful freeware release of the Airbus H135 by the Media Hype Train, which continues to evolve at an excellent pace, we now have the announcement for what seems to be the first payware helicopter: the iconic Bell B47G, coming to MSFS by FlyInside.

FlyInside has mostly been known for their work with VR support for FSX, P3D and X-Plane, and they are now coming to MSFS with a completely different product. Today’s announcement on the official Flight Simulator forums promises an accurate recreation of the famous helicopter, with pleasing graphical models and realistic flight characteristics.

Although, as we know, Flight Simulator doesn’t yet include a helicopter flight model, developers are coming up with ingenious solutions to overcome this omission. FlyInside claims that they have created a simulation of their own, already working nicely in MSFS, that is able to provide a realistic helicopter flight experience, with collective/cyclic response, ground effect, flap-back, auto-rotation, and more.

For now, there’s only a series of nice images showing the B47G both inside and out. As for a release date, there’s none as of yet, but the developers should give an idea about that soon. In the meantime, there will be a few videos showing this heli in action. Stay tuned for further updates!
