Aerosoft A340-600 Pro gets its first update, with more already in the works

Version 1.0.1 addresses flight model accuracy, audio, EFB issues and more, as Aerosoft and ToLiss confirm further improvements are already in development.

Less than two weeks after launch, Aerosoft and ToLiss have pushed out the first update to their A340-600 Pro for Microsoft Flight Simulator, and judging by the changelog, the team has been paying close attention to what the community has been saying.

Just last week we reported on the update roadmap the team outlined at FSWeekend in Lelystad, where the first update was already described as being in beta. That update is now live, and it covers a fair amount of ground for a point-zero-one.

What’s in version 1.0.1

The update touches several areas of the aircraft. On the audio side, missing pack sounds with open doors have been fixed, rain sounds have been added, and flap, cabin and ground roll sounds have all been updated.

Flight model and systems received attention too. The team says drag and fuel flow at cruise altitude have been improved, and in-flight wingflex is now less jittery, which was a visible issue that several community members had flagged. The waypoint skipping feature has also been refined, with go-arounds now correctly restringing only the final into the flight plan, rather than broader chunks of the route.

On the navigation and input side, interfacing with “rudder left” and “rudder right” axis assignments has been added, fixing a gap that affected users with certain hardware setups. The built-in pushback has been corrected after an issue that could cause erratic behaviour, and door 2L has been repositioned as the primary door in the aircraft config so MSFS correctly prioritises it for stairs and jetways.

The EFB also received a fix for an issue that could prevent new charts from loading during flight. The team has additionally accelerated the situation load, corrected the direction of the Air Data and FMS selection switches, and updated the cockpit PBR effects.

A community solution for cockpit lighting

While the team is working on a proper lighting improvement for an upcoming update, they’ve pointed users toward a community mod in the meantime. Developer KDFW has published a lighting mod for the A340-600 Pro on flightsim.to, and Aerosoft has specifically flagged it as a solid option for anyone who wants an improvement now rather than later. It’s a nice gesture, and it reflects the kind of open relationship between the team and the community that has characterised this project from early on.

What’s coming next

As discussed after FSWeekend, the team is already working on further improvements, including a remodelling of the wing and parts of the fuselage to improve overall accuracy and visual quality. This is clearly intended to be a product that continues to evolve post-launch.

The update is available right now through Aerosoft ONE. Third-party store customers (such as Contrail) should expect the update to follow shortly, as Aerosoft says those channels are just receiving the updated version now.

If you haven’t picked it up yet and are considering it, note that the introductory price of €69.99 was set to end with this first update, reverting to the regular €79.99 going forward.
