Miltech Simulations, working with Blackbird Simulations, has just rolled out version 1.0.2 of its MH-60 add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. More than just a round of bug fixes, this update touches nearly every aspect of the helicopter: flight dynamics, performance, autopilot behavior, and even the way dirt collects on the airframe.
Flight model overhaul
One of the most noticeable changes comes with the flight model. Miltech says the MH-60 is now more agile, with smoother hover altitude control and sharper responsiveness across pitch, roll, and yaw. Rotor animations and blade coning have also been reworked to better reflect how the real helicopter behaves. For sim pilots who found the original release a little stiff or unpredictable, this should be a welcome shift.
Less VRAM, more headroom
Performance was another major focus. Through texture compression improvements and mipmapping, the MH-60 now uses about 1 GB less VRAM. That’s a significant reduction, especially for those running the sim on mid-range systems. Miltech recommends uninstalling the old Low VRAM Patch, since it may not be necessary anymore. A new version will still be provided for those who need it.
Autopilot and hover refinements
Hover mode and autopilot stability have been fine-tuned as well. Version 1.0.2 delivers steadier altitude and heading hold, more predictable vertical speed management, and fresh keybind options for hover adjustments and lateral/longitudinal speed control.

Small but useful additions
The update also introduces several quality-of-life touches:
- Clickable rotor brake and searchlight controls
- Dynamic dirt, mud, and insect accumulation on the airframe
- A larger set of custom keybinds
A long list of fixes
Behind the scenes, more than 40 fixes have been applied. These range from APU quirks (such as looping sounds and fuel starvation) to incorrect liveries, lighting bugs, texture regressions, and crew call issues. Even small details like pitot cover textures and cyclic-linked weapon covers have been addressed.
Xbox release on the horizon
For console flyers, Miltech confirmed that both the MH-60 and its Mission Hub expansion are undergoing testing for Xbox. The goal is to release them “as quickly as possible,” with version 1.0.2 being the baseline build.
