Miltech Simulations has officially launched its long-awaited MH-60 helicopter for Microsoft Flight Simulator, a detailed, purpose-built package designed around complex operations and immersive mission scenarios that brings together over a year of development in partnership with Blackbird Simulations.
The MH-60 is a twin-engine, multi-mission workhorse. In the real world, it fills a staggering number of roles, from anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare to SAR, CSAR, logistics, medevac, and special ops. In MSFS, that versatility is mirrored through three main variants:
- MH-60S “Sierra” – Utility-focused, ideal for VERTREP, SAR, troop transport, and even firefighting.
- MH-60R “Romeo” – The Navy’s frontline anti-submarine and surface warfare platform, equipped with sonobuoys and dipping sonar (fully simulated when paired with the Mission Hub).
- MH-60T “Tango” – A Coast Guard patrol and SAR version with dedicated USCG liveries and regional paint schemes.
Each variant includes extensive livery selections — 39 in total — representing real-world operators such as the U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, Royal Thai Navy, Republic of Singapore Air Force, Royal Australian Navy, and more.
Miltech says the flight model was validated by MH-60 flight crew, which should show in the nuanced behavior and control feel. A fully customized AFCS/SAS (Autopilot and Stability Augmentation System) handles real-world modes like speed hold, hover assist, and vertical auto-hover. These are crucial for handling sling loads, maritime landings, and search patterns.
You’ll also find a semi-functional weapons system (Hellfires, torpedoes, flares, guns), four types of sling loads (from pallets to Bambi Buckets), and a virtual Crew Chief who guides you via audio in VERTREP and SAR ops. The avionics and cockpit systems are derived from U.S. Navy Block I MH-60S documentation — including the keyset, MFDs, and full PD/MFD interaction.
Sound has not been left behind either. Echo19 Audio handled the audio package, using recordings from a real operational UH-60 equipped with the GE T700-GE-401 engines.
The Mission Hub
A major feature of this release is the optional Mission Hub, sold separately or as part of a discounted bundle. This is a dynamic mission system supporting over 30 structured missions across combat, SAR, firefighting, logistics, and ASW roles. Simmers can expect:
- AI ships including Coast Guard cutters, frigates, and cruise ships
- Search patterns and coordinate-based tasking
- Randomized missions and branching outcomes
- Slung cargo operations and winch deployment
- Sonobuoy and sonar interaction (Romeo only)
The Mission Hub also includes four handcrafted mini-scenery areas:
- CGAS San Diego (USA)
- CGAS Kodiak (Alaska)
- Garden Island (Australia)
- Peñón de Vélez de la Gomera (Spain)
These regions are designed to complement the mission system and offer purpose-built environments for helicopter operations.

Pricing and availability
The MH-60 is available now on PC for both MSFS 2020 and 2024, priced at $37.99 USD on both Miltech’s and Blackbird’s websites. The Mission Hub is sold separately at €10.47 (discounted from €13.95), or both can be purchased as a bundle for €44.42. Xbox availability is planned but pending Marketplace approval.
Additional compatible mission content — including Miltech’s Supercarrier Pro and UK Carrier Strike Group — is also available at a discount during launch.
A milestone for helicopter operations in MSFS
While Microsoft Flight Simulator has come a long way in supporting helicopters, few releases have approached the scope and mission complexity of Miltech’s MH-60. Between the high-fidelity modeling, immersive systems, multi-role flexibility, and expanding mission framework, this is a truly impressive and comprehensive package for rotorcraft enthusiasts!
