Just Flight’s Avro Vulcan is set to arrive in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 very shortly. The team behind this detailed simulation of the Cold War bomber has announced that the aircraft will be ready for MSFS 2024 compatibility as soon as next week.

The announcement was brief but full of promise: “It’s a busy period for the internal dev team here at Just Flight as we continue the job of getting our MSFS 2020 add-ons to run and work correctly in MSFS 2024. It’s looking like our Vulcan will be the next of our aircraft to be fully compatible in FS2024 and that should be available at some point next week. More news as and when we can confirm the exact date for this but for now here are a few screenshots of the beast in FS2024.”

Those screenshots shared as part of the update reveal a fantastic-looking add-on, with the Vulcan’s sleek delta-wing design cutting through the sky with its camouflage paint gleaming in the sunlight. An interior view also shows the painstakingly recreated cockpit, which captured the spirit of flying the aircraft in MSFS 2020 and now promises to do the same with the updated rendition for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

The Vulcan first landed in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 to widespread acclaim. Just Flight’s recreation of the B Mk. 2, K.2, and MRR variants brought the legendary British strategic bomber to life. Real-world research—including access to the preserved Vulcan XM655 at Wellesbourne Airfield—ensured every detail, from its cockpit systems to the infamous howl of its Olympus engines, was faithfully reproduced.

But as Microsoft Flight Simulator evolved into its 2024 edition, developers faced the mammoth task of ensuring compatibility. The Vulcan is now joining the growing list of Just Flight aircraft making the leap to the new platform.

The Vulcan’s upcoming release is just part of a larger push by Just Flight to bring their fleet into the next generation of Microsoft Flight Simulator. The team is planning for smooth transitions between platforms, making good on their commitment to free MSFS 2024 upgrades for existing users of their MSFS 2020 addons.

As the Vulcan becomes compatible with MSFS 2024, simmers can expect all the same features that made it a standout in the previous version. From the intricate systems modeling to the stunning visual and audio modeling, the Vulcan’s transition into MSFS 2024 promises to be spectacular!
