Orbx has partnered with developer Dmytro Krykunov to release MSFS Global Trees HD, a comprehensive vegetation overhaul for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This new mod promises to improve the simulator’s landscapes with a wider variety of vegetation and customization options.
MSFS Global Trees HD completely replaces the default vegetation in Microsoft Flight Simulator with high-quality, detailed specimens. The mod uses a biome-specific approach, with each ecological region featuring its own unique set of plants and trees.
This variety and detail extends to the biomes themselves, which have been reworked to be more vibrant, diverse, and realistic.
Key features of MSFS Global Trees HD:
- Completely replaces all default vegetation with high-quality ones
- Adds the ability to change vegetation seasons
- Adds the ability to replace the default grass with six new types of grass
- Biomes have also been reworked so that specific vegetation appears in certain biomes
- Software is available for changing the vegetation season and grass type
The promotional images certainly look very good! Dmytro Krykunov, the developer behind this project, has clearly put considerable effort into creating a tool that not only enhances visual quality but also provides users with the flexibility to shape their simulated environment.

This release comes at an interesting time, not only with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on the horizon, which is set to introduce many significant vegetation improvements, but also because it enters a market where many users have already invested in established vegetation enhancement solutions like REX AccuSeason and Bijan’s Seasons.
