FlightSim Studio (FSS) is back with some news about its E-Jets family of aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator: the E190/195 Freighter (P2F) variant is set for release soon! This addition will expand the popular E-Jets lineup in Microsoft Flight Simulator, which already includes the E170/175 and E190/195 models.

Scheduled Release and Features

FSS announced today that the release of the E-Jets Freighter is planned for Q2 2024, sticking to the timeline announced back in December 2023 when the E190/195 models were launched. So, just a handful of weeks remaining! This freighter variant brings a few changes tailored to cargo operations while maintaining many of the features of its passenger counterparts.

The freighter version includes a detailed cargo cabin, and the main cargo door can be opened both via the EFB and a special panel in the cabin. Additionally, a suitable GSX configuration is included, ensuring a seamless ground operations experience.

Technically, the freighter variants are very similar to the E190/195 models, with the main differences being visual and minor adjustments in the EFB for cargo-specific functions. The systems remain largely the same, ensuring consistency across the E-Jets family. FlightSim Studio has noted that, due to the limited data available from the real-world counterpart, there may be slight deviations from the actual aircraft specifications.

The team has also created several liveries based on research into potential airline operators that might use the E-Jets Freighter. These liveries are fictional for now, as the real-world aircraft has just begun testing and is yet to be adopted by airlines, but they will surely add a touch of realism and variety to the simulation.

Availability and Pricing

For current owners of both the E170/175 and E190/195 packages, the freighter variant will be available at no extra cost. FlightSim Studio is developing a technical solution to facilitate obtaining a serial for activation via Contrail or Aerosoft One, ensuring easy access for all users, regardless of where the original packages were purchased.

For those who own only one of the E-Jets packages, there are two options:

  1. Purchase the missing E-Jets package to get the freighter for free.
  2. Buy the freighter as a stand-alone product at a reduced price during the Early Access period.

For new users, starting with the freighter variant offers an attractive entry point into the Embraer world within Microsoft Flight Simulator. However, it’s important to note that there will be no discounts on the other E-Jets packages even if the freighter is purchased separately.

Marketplace and Xbox Launch

FlightSim Studio has also requested Microsoft to include the E-Jets Freighter in the MSFS Marketplace. This will mark the first E-Jet product available through this channel. The onboarding process is complex, and it will take several weeks before the freighter is available on the Marketplace, but if all goes well, this may be the first step toward getting all of the airplanes in the series on the Marketplace.

Stay tuned for more updates. We’ll let you know once the E-Jets Freighter gets released!
