The wait is over! The PMDG 737 is now out for the Xbox

The wait is finally over! Today marks a significant milestone for the new wave of simmers worldwide that have been enjoying Microsoft Flight Simulator on the Xbox. The highly-anticipated PMDG 737-700 and 737-800, two of the most immersive, realistic, and complex aircraft in the world of flight simulation, are now available for purchase on the Xbox Marketplace!

The PMDG 737 Series has been a huge success on the PC side of MSFS, with the -600, -700, -800, and -900 variants catering to the tastes and needs of different simmers. For now, Xbox users can fly the two most-popular variants, but the -600 and -900 should soon follow and complete the collection.

Unfortunately, the 737s come without any airline liveries at this moment. PMDG has addressed these concerns, stating that a separate livery package will soon be available at the minimal charge of $4.99. The decision to release the liveries as a separate package was due to marketplace restrictions, but it’s easy to see why less-informed simmers may conclude that the company is simply trying to extract a few extra bucks from users. According to PMDG, Microsoft simply doesn’t allow free liveries to be distributed in the Marketplace.

Nonetheless, the consensus amongst the community about these airplanes has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the overall quality and realism of the aircraft, with little to no stutters or crashes even on more demanding routes.

With this release, PMDG 737 has set a new standard for airliners available on Xbox which serves as a testament to the continuing growth and development of flight simulation on the Xbox platform, bringing a new level of realism and immersion to a totally new audience!
