UK2000 releases Flagstaff Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator

Mostly known for their UK scenery for MSFS and other flight simulators, UK2000 has lately taken a detour to the other side of the pond, releasing two airports in the United States: KSNA John Wayne and KGYY Gary-Chicago. The third one has now arrived, inviting MSFS simmers to visit the closest airport to the Grand Canyon: KFLG Flagstaff Airport.

Flagstaff Pulliam Airport is located in the US state of Arizona, just about 80 miles to the southeast of the Grand Canyon. It’s mainly used for general aviation, but also serves commercial traffic by American Eagle and United Express, connecting to the airlines’ major hubs in Phoenix, Denver, and Dallas.

KFLG is located in a bit of a challenging predicament, sitting at a fairly high 7000ft of altitude. It snows during winter, and the mountainous terrain nearby must always be in the minds of pilots when arriving or departing. The ILS on runway 21, for example, is quite helpful in conditions with low visibility, but note that it’s offset by 3º degrees, likely to avoid high terrain to the west. Keep that in mind, and don’t be surprised by finding yourself slightly to the left of the centreline on final.

As you can see, Flagstaff Airport is definitely an interesting destination. That’s why it’s important to have a bespoke scenery that does justice to the real-world scenario, which is exactly what UK2000 is trying to accomplish with its latest scenery.

UK2000 claims to have recreated KFLG with high levels of detail, with realistic buildings, high-resolution PBR textures, and even some custom animations. Some of the hangars feature interior details and are open for curious onlookers to see. The developers also allow customers to choose between two different versions of the airport, with or without static aircraft.
