NZA Simulations releases astonishing sceneries for Nelson Airport (NZNS) and Motueka (freeware)

Extraordinary levels of detail await in in New Zealand's South Island.

NZA Simulations is a recently formed Australian and New Zealander team of developers with the goal of creating high-quality add-ons for the latest Microsoft Flight Simulator. After a series of smaller freeware airfields (and a couple of payware ones), the team has now released a spectacular rendition of Nelson Airport (NZNS) and the nearby Motueka Aerodrome (NZMK) – this one for free – both located in New Zealand’s South Island.

Coming from the Proline series of products from the developers, Nelson Airport looks absolutely remarkable! NZA Simulations released a trailer for the product showing a scenery brimming with details, from the extremely realistic ground markings, vegetation, and buildings to interiors that look like we’ve never seen before in Flight Simulator. The Terminal interior has been fully modeled and it looks so good that it’s hard to resist asking for a drink at McCashin’s Bar!

The incredible attention to detail is seen everywhere. With more than 9000 hand-placed objects and over 250 custom assets, NZNS looks very unique amongst other airport offerings for MSFS. The addition of many highly detailed static aircraft such as Air New Zealand’s Dash-8s or local helicopters definitely helps to create this very authentic feel.

The trailer video also provides a sneak-peek into an exciting aircraft currently in development by FlightSimGames, the Pilatus PC-6 that we have featured before.

While Nelson Airport is begging to be discovered in MSFS, that’s not the only one that NZA Simulations has in store for us. With this release, the developers also brought a freeware recreation of the nearby Motueka Airfield, a smaller but also beautifully rendered airport from the developers.

With both these products, NZA Simulations provide a series of enhancements in the surroundings as well. A complete package that also sits perfectly with the recently released New Zealand Mesh from Orbx.

But there’s more! Well, not for now, but upcoming. The developers also provided a preview of NZCH Christchurch, and announced the development of NZNW Wellington Airport! NZA Simulations really are quite busy, and with the quality of the work they are doing, we cant wait to see more!

NZNS – Nelson and NZMK – Motueka are now available for Flight Simulator.
