Carenado teases the Cessna C170B for Flight Simulator

Carenado has established as one of the most prolific aircraft developers for MSFS, and just a month after their latest release, the Seneca V, the developers are now teasing a new airplane: the Cessna C170B, a predecessor of the iconic 172, the most produced aircraft of all-time!

Carenado shared the first images of their C170B, presenting us with their typical high-quality graphics. The C170B has a similar shape to the 172, but in a taildragger configuration, rather than with tricycle gear. The result is an airplane that is effectively a civil version of the L-19 ‘Bird Dog’, an airplane that is also available for MSFS, by BlackBox Simulation.

The Cessna 170 was introduced shortly after World War II, in 1948, but was superseded by the 172 just after 8 years. The 172 went on to become the most popular airplane ever, but its predecessor remained a little everywhere in the world. Currently, more than 2.000 are still in service.

In the preview shots that Carenado shared on the company’s Facebook page, the developers showcase the exterior model, a few really nice liveries, and a couple of stunning shots of the very vintage C170B cockpit. The white panel in the cockpit looks very classy, and everything is as good-looking and detailed as you would expect from Carenado.

If everything goes according to recent history, Carenado should release their C170B in the coming weeks. It’s an aircraft that will share the spotlight with the myriad of other general aviation airplanes that already populate MSFS’s hangar, but it’s definitely an interesting airplane that will surely compel many simmers to buy it.

Indulge on the stunning screenshots above, and stay tuned for further news about a release! In the meantime, you may want to check some of Carenado’s recent releases for Flight Simulator.
