Thirteen days after iniBuilds first revealed New Orleans, and only three days after the official trailer, Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (KMSY) is now available for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
New Orleans is listed on the iniBuilds Store at £16.99 before VAT (£20.39 with VAT, or roughly $27 / €24). For comparison, Chicago O’Hare launched in July at a discounted £19.99, down from a regular £23.99, and London Gatwick went on sale at £21.99.
That pricing reflects the size of the airport. After a run of mega-hubs, from Dallas Fort Worth and its seven runways to O’Hare and its multi-jetways, KMSY is a much more compact field where regional jets and narrowbodies do most of the work. It still carries the “Premium” badge iniBuilds uses for its bigger releases, though.
iniBuilds says the scenery is based on a dedicated reference trip to the real airport, during which the team took hundreds of photographs. Those were used for the modern terminal, inside and out, as well as the ground textures, the airport equipment and the infrastructure around the field.
The developer lists hand-made ground textures for the runways, aprons, paths and roads, a full HD ground poly matching the real-world layout as of 2026, and hundreds of custom models covering buildings, vehicles and airport objects. The landside area gets its own attention too, with custom decals, signposts, vegetation and parking barriers, while the dynamic lighting and taxi signage are built to real-world specifications.
There’s an official GSX profile included both in the scenery folder and the iniManager download, and iniManager can be used to tune the airport for your system. iniBuilds says every model has been LOD-optimized and that the scenery uses the latest MSFS 2024 SDK features for performance.
KMSY slots in neatly with the rest of iniBuilds’ US map. A short hop from Dallas or Chicago now has iniBuilds scenery at both ends, which should be handy for anyone running a virtual airline across the American South and Midwest.
And if you prefer something smaller, New Orleans has another recent arrival across town. Propair Flight’s Lakefront Airport (KNEW) brought the historic Art Deco terminal to the sim in September, so the city is now covered for both airliners and general aviation.
The preview images we saw at the announcement also showed cargo facilities and FBO buildings beyond the passenger gates. With iniBuilds’ Global Jet on the way, a well-equipped business aviation side to its airports could come in handy.
iniBuilds New Orleans (KMSY) is available now from the iniBuilds Store. It’s for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 only.
