Famous for developing high-fidelity, award-winning aircraft add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS), SimWorks Studios is about to update one of their best-sellers into MSFS 2024. But they also continue to improve, update and fix their current releases, including the venerable Daher Kodiak 100 series, also a “must-have” in everyone’s General Aviation hangar.
This incredibly nimble STOL airplane will get a brand new update very soon, alongside an updated version of their proprietary SWS installer, which gets a new two-factor authentication option. According to SWS’ latest update on Instagram, the new update for the Kodiak will bring a fix for the landing light issues that some users reported.
In case you missed it, in MSFS 2024 the plane had an issue where the landing lights failed to shine on the ground, would not turn off properly, or died immediately when switching camera views. This should finally be fixed with an update expected to arrive today, September 28th.
The SimWorks Studios Kodiak 100 Series is available to buy right now from several stores. You can get it starting from €19.99 (or your regional equivalent) for the amphibian-only version, or €34.99 for the full package, on the SimWorks Studios website, the iniBuilds Store, Orbx Direct, the Contrail Shop, the Just Flight Store and simMarket. You can buy the wheels-only, amphibian-only or bundled version for either MSFS 2020 or MSFS 2024 (different versions). You will also get a “loyalty” price if you upgrade from MSFS 2020 to the newer simulator.

But the same development update brought something else: a brand new look at SWS’ upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024-native Pilatus PC-12. Much like the Kodiak was licensed by Daher, SWS had already made a PC-12 licensed by Pilatus, with a good level of authenticity. The new PC-12 for MSFS 2024 intends to keep the great experience already offered in MSFS 2020, but with some improvements.
You can still expect a highly detailed single-engine turboprop, with full high-quality interior and exterior texturing, intricate systemic animations, and realistic flight handling tailored with feedback from active pilots. But now with some “magic powder” from the new simulator.
In the Instagram post mentioned above, the team listed what is expected to carry over from the MSFS 2020 version and what is new in the MSFS 2024 version (see the list below), alongside some cool new screenshots from the latest simulator that you can see in this article. It does look good, pretty much like the last version.

Carried over from the MSFS 2020 version:
- Deep systems modelling
- High-fidelity flight and engine modelling, with separate 4- and 5-bladed propeller dynamics
- EFIS50 with map and weather modes
- PMS GTN and TDS GTNXi compatibility
- Commuter, Cargo and Executive cabins
- FS2020 repaints still compatible
New for MSFS 2024:
- Proper beta and reverse, idle dwell and reverse fuel governing
- Preflight checks with covers and chocks
- Dirt and weathering
- Career mode compatibility
- Updated sound set
- CFD flight model and remodelled engine bay
- GNSv2: load flight plans straight from the EFB

The SimWorks Studios Pilatus PC-12 for MSFS 2024 still has no price tag or concrete release date. The team only mentioned that a new Release Candidate is expected “late next week,” so a proper date announcement may be just around the corner. The actual release window, however, is planned for “the second half of October.” The team promises some… “surprises,” so we’ll be watching for those too.
