The Fokker F70 and F100 spent years as one of the most closely watched development projects in Microsoft Flight Simulator, and since their release at the end of June, the two Dutch jets have been in the hands of the community for a few busy weeks. Now comes the next milestone: Just Flight has released v1.2, the first major update for both aircraft. It’s a big one. The patch is available for the MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 builds and mixes new features with a long list of fixes touching nearly every corner of the aircraft, from the autopilot to the wingflex.
Two additions stand out immediately. The first is comprehensive state saving, which restores most of the cockpit, avionics, and systems configuration when you reload a flight. This has become one of the most requested quality-of-life features on high-fidelity aircraft in general, and it’s really useful on a jet like this. Being able to step away and come back to the aircraft as you left it changes how you can fit a Fokker flight into a normal day.
The second is support for the latest MSFS 2024 weather radar features, including tilt and gain controls, which is exclusive to the 2024 version of the sim. The radar also gains a test pattern on the navigation display, so you can run the self-test just like the real crews did.

Just Flight has also added computational lag to the navigation display, along with an “FMS RANGE DISAGREE” warning when changing pages and ranges. In other words, the developer has deliberately made the avionics slower. It sounds counterintuitive, but the real F70 and F100 flew with late-1980s computing hardware, and the displays took a moment to redraw when the crew switched ranges. Modern add-ons often render these things instantly, which is convenient but not authentic.
The displays get plenty of attention elsewhere too. The update fixes TCAS occasionally showing the wrong relative altitude for traffic, restores the missing 3nm TCAS range ring on the map, and cleans up a handful of PFD annunciation issues, including the missing V1/V2 dashes before takeoff speeds are set. There’s also a new extended runway centreline on the ND when a runway is selected without a procedure, a small but handy aid for visual approaches.
The EFB grows into more of an ops hub
The tablet picks up several important additions. If you use Navigraph, the Enroute Charts app now displays your active flight plan route. Between the OFP import into the FMS, the performance export, and now live route display on the charts, the pre-flight workflow is increasingly self-contained.
There’s also a new ground conditioned air option. A GROUND AIR button on the EFB, backed by additional systems logic, lets the air conditioning run on the ground without the APU, just as ground carts allow at a real gate. Combined with the state saving mentioned above and a new option to show throttle axis position on the engine indications, the EFB is truly becoming the aircraft’s operations centre.
Flying qualities and FMS logic
A significant portion of v1.2 is dedicated to the AFCAS, the aircraft’s autopilot and autothrottle architecture, which we’ve covered before as the system that defined this project’s final stretch. Just Flight says the autothrottle now behaves better during altitude and glideslope capture, with reduced hunting in level flight, and the auto-trim logic has been improved so the aircraft is no longer out of trim when you disengage the autopilot. Several spurious AFCAS TARGET and MODE warnings have been eliminated, and the autopilot now correctly disconnects when the stab trim switches are held for 1.5 seconds, matching the real aircraft’s behaviour.
The FMS gets its own round of refinement. The developer highlights improved waypoint sequencing for Direct-To operations, including routes that skip STARs and other complex scenarios, along with smarter navaid remote tuning that now prioritises navaid range over simple distance.
The smaller stuff
Beyond the headline items, the changelog runs long. Spurious GPWS alerts during go-arounds are gone, icing warnings now actually trigger in icing conditions, and the ADF and ILS ident volume knobs no longer work in reverse. On the visual side, the flap animations and wingflex have been reworked, the wings no longer flex upward while parked on the ground, and F70 owners get fixes for an animation bug that showed low cabin pressure during cruise and another that left the standby compass non-functional.
The Operations Manual and EFB Manual have both been updated to match.
