The Mi-2 Hoplite is now officially available for MSFS 2024

Digital Aeronautics has brought its "study-level" helicopter to the newer sim as a single early access product, with a pay-once model that hands every future update to buyers for free.

The Mi-2 Hoplite is now available for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. After an April debut that was tied to MSFS 2020 only (but still managed to work in MSFS 2024 for the most part), Digital Aeronautics’ helicopter has reached the platform most of the community has already moved to.

The studio first planned a separate, paid native MSFS 2024 version much later, by the end of 2026. After what it describes as heavy demand to get the helicopter onto the newer sim sooner, it added a compatibility version for late June, which we reported on in May. That two-track plan raised obvious questions: would the native version be a second purchase, and what would existing owners pay? We asked Digital Aeronautics directly, and the studio told us it has folded the compatibility and native versions into one product to remove the confusion.

The result is a single MSFS 2024 Mi-2, sold now as Early Access. It’s worth being clear that a fuller feature set still on the way. What ships today is a fully working base model with its 3D assets converted to the MSFS 2024 SDK, textures moved to KTX2, and the sound bank rebuilt for the new sim, alongside improved performance and lighting, a simplified walk around mode, and an advanced flight model based on MSFS 2024’s flight dynamics.

Digital Aeronautics says new customers pay €34.99 (plus tax) for Early Access, with a launch promotion of €31.49, a 10% cut, for the first two weeks after release. The price then climbs as features land, to €36.99 after the first update, €39.99 after the second, and from €44.99 at the final stage.

Those increases only apply to new buyers, though. Once you’ve purchased at any point, every later update is free, so buying earlier just means paying less for the same eventual product.

Existing owners come out ahead. Anyone who bought the MSFS 2020 version before 22 June 2026 gets the MSFS 2024 upgrade, and all future updates, at no cost. The studio says it’s a thank-you to the people who backed the project from the start.

From there, the roadmap sets out what’s coming: a pilot avatar, passenger loading and a full walk mode, an electronic tablet, ground maintenance, cockpit customization options such as imperial or metric instruments and panel colours, and a final round of modifications shaped by user feedback.

Where to buy

The Mi-2 Hoplite for MSFS 2024 is out now in early access. You can pick it up from Aerosoft or Contrail, with the €31.49 launch promotion running for the first two weeks.
