Digital Aeronautics Mi-2 Hoplite is getting MSFS 2024 compatibility this June

The studio also reveals that the Polish Pack has been pushed to early June.

When Digital Aeronautics arrived on the scene a few weeks back as a complete unknown, the flight sim community had every reason to be cautious. A brand new studio, no prior releases, and a fairly ambitious first project. But the Mi-2 Hoplite turned out to be one of the more pleasant surprises of 2026 so far, a genuinely well-crafted debut that earned its praise across the community.

There was one asterisk, though. If you’d already made the move to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, the experience was a bit of a mixed bag. The Mi-2 works in MSFS 2024, technically speaking, but it doesn’t really take advantage of what the newer platform brings to the table.

Digital Aeronautics is now changing that. The studio has announced that a dedicated MSFS 2024 compatibility update is coming in June, and it will be a free upgrade for everyone who has already purchased the current MSFS 2020 version.

When we first covered this debut developer and their Soviet-era helicopter, the roadmap placed a full extended MSFS 2024 version later in the year. This June compatibility update is essentially an earlier bridge release, letting players enjoy the Mi-2 on the newer platform while the full MSFS 2024 version, with all its expanded features, continues development in parallel.

According to the developer, the June update will carry over all the fixes from the MSFS 2020 v1.1.0 release, including 3D corrections, a reduction of the inverted cone of the rotor, the rotor brake handle repositioned to an upright position, gyro-magnetic compass twitching, and flight model tuning. On top of that, it addresses a set of MSFS 2024-specific bugs: a double avatar issue, sound problems, night lighting, and SDK compatibility features related to 3D, lighting, and walk-around mode.

New buyers won’t be left out either. Digital Aeronautics says the model will launch at an early price, with 15% off during the first two weeks after the compatibility release. And for those thinking ahead, anyone who purchases the standard MSFS 2020/2024 version will receive an exclusive discount when the full extended MSFS 2024 edition eventually releases.

As a reminder, that extended version remains scheduled for later this year and will bring considerably more to the table: a full walk-around mode, exterior interaction and ground maintenance, a custom tablet, cockpit and exterior customization options, and new aircraft modifications.

On the Polish Pack

There’s also an update on the Polish Pack, the themed content bundle that was originally expected in mid-May. Digital Aeronautics says it is now moving to early June.

While working on community feedback around 3D issues, including wrong fuel tank positioning and door animation errors, the team discovered that correcting these elements required changes to the texture maps. Those changes, in turn, affected the liveries directly. Given that the Polish Pack is essentially a livery and cockpit release, the team had to rework it from the ground up rather than ship it alongside unresolved visual errors. A separate dedicated post about the Polish Pack is expected next week from the studio.
