When the Embraer Praetor 600 was first announced back in March 2025, the language around it was ambitious but vague. A strategic partnership with Embraer, an Expert Series placement, a promise of exceptional depth. The May 2025 stream added a little more colour. Yesterday, during the April developer livestream, Working Title’s Matt Nischan finally showed what that ambition looks like in practice.
Nischan’s stated goal for the project, in his own words, was to take the aircraft “all the way to the end,” with every switch and every function accounted for. That philosophy shows up across the entire aircraft.
The electrical system covers every individual circuit mapped to its real-world position, with hundreds of individual circuits and fully interactive circuit breaker panels, all mapped to their real-world positions, where pulling a breaker affects the right system.
The hydraulics are physics-based, with pump behaviour, fluid heat, and heat exchange with the fuel system all part of the simulation. The engine model works from engineering-grade thermodynamic equations, so the turbine responds naturally to changes in load rather than following pre-scripted behaviour, and the APU runs on the same simulation as the main engines.
The avionics go just as deep. The ProLine Fusion suite features two fully independent FMS units drawing from separate navigation sources, with LNAV, VNAV, and performance calculations all modelled in detail. Every warning and error flag in the cockpit responds to actual system states rather than scripted triggers. Nischan mentioned that the team even modelled some of the more obscure real-world FMS functionality that most simmers will never use, simply because it’s there in the real aircraft.
One of the coolest demonstrations during the stream involved the radio system. Working Title has modelled RF signal propagation physically, including how terrain affects reception. Nischan showed this by flying into the Grand Canyon with a VOR tuned from an airport behind him. As the aircraft descended into the canyon, the signal degraded progressively and dropped out entirely once terrain blocked the line of sight.
Nischan was upfront that yesterday was a deliberate partial reveal. The exterior model and sounds, handled by Asobo’s team, weren’t shown. The release seems to be aimed at later this year, with November as a tentative window. For sure we’ll have more details in future streams. We’ll be following this one closely!
