Aerosoft and ToLiss set March 12 release date for the A340-600 Pro

The A340 arrives in Microsoft Flight Simulator this Thursday!

It is finally time to mark the calendar. After a year of quiet development and a busy weekend of public previews, Aerosoft and ToLiss have confirmed the A340-600 Pro will release on March 12, 2026!

As we learned a few days ago, the story behind this project is a reminder of how much can happen at a trade show. The collaboration began at FSExpo 2023 in Houston, where the leads from both companies met in person for the first time. At that point, ToLiss was already looking for a way to become platform-independent. After a six-month feasibility study, lead developer Torsten concluded that the move was possible, provided they built a custom flight model from scratch.

ToLiss handled the systems and engine logic while Aerosoft focused on the visual assets. To bridge the gap between simulators, the team even collaborated with McGill University on the flight physics. The developer says that they wanted to provide an experience that met their own standards, which required moving away from the default MSFS flight dynamics.

Following the weekend previews from content creators, the developers identified just over 20 issues (some related to systems and some visuals). Out of these, 7 items were selected to be addressed before the release, while the remaining, which are deemed as non-critical, will be tackled after the release.

And with that, a new high-fidelity airliner is just about to touch down for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The A340 is quite a unique beast in the widebody category and presents both very interesting flying opportunities and an intricate set of challenges that are sure to keep MSFS simmers entertained for years to come.

While you wait just a couple of days for the release, feast your eyes on the gorgeous official trailer below to get an idea of what you’re getting later this week:
