The transition of high-quality aircraft from Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 to the 2024 edition has been one of the most discussed topics in the community. These have happened in several ways, from marginal conversions to full of native re-developments, and at different price points. This weekend it was FlightFX’s time to show up with a clear statement of intent, announcing the HJet 24, a new version of Marwan Gharib’s successful light jet built specifically for the new platform. And it’s free for existing owners of the MSFS 2020 version!
For many pilots, the HJet was a staple of their 2020 hangar because of its accessibility and advanced automation. This new release comes to fill the “private charter” niche in MSFS 2024 with a new high-fidelity option that is ready for the new specific mechanics in MSFS 2024.
The developer says that the HJet 24 features a rebuilt flight model and ground handling system. This is an important change, as the new simulator handles tire physics and suspension differently than its predecessor. By rebuilding these systems, FlightFX aims to provide a more realistic experience during taxi, takeoff, and landing.
The avionics have also seen a major shift. The aircraft now utilizes the Working Title V2 framework, which is the current gold standard for Garmin systems in the sim. The developer says they have also integrated a custom Vertical Situation Display (VSD). This provides a profile view of terrain and the flight path, a feature that was frequently requested by the community during the original aircraft’s lifecycle.

Career mode and immersion
One of the highlights of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is the walk-around feature and the career system. FlightFX says the HJet 24 is fully compatible with these additions. This includes interactive covers, chocks, and a GPU connection that you can manage manually. The aircraft is also ready for Private Charter missions in Career Mode, which gives pilots a structured way to use the jet.
The cabin has been completely remodeled with new materials and interactive elements like smart glass window shades and lavatory doors. To improve the atmosphere, the team partnered with Echo19 for a brand-new soundscape. This includes new engine sounds and improved cockpit ambience.
Market position and availability
FlightFX is taking a community-friendly approach to pricing. While the HJet 24 will be priced at $24.99, the developer has confirmed that all previous owners of the MSFS 2020 version will receive a free upgrade. This puts the product in a strong position compared to other developers who are charging upgrade fees for the new simulator.
The release is set for February 19th, 2026.
