PMDG is making quick work of bringing its fleet into Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The latest arrival is the Boeing 777F, now officially available for the newest version of the sim following a brief delay while the team completed compatibility testing for Sim Update 2.
As of May 19, the freighter is available to all existing PMDG.com customers via the Operations Center. If you’ve already purchased the 777F for MSFS 2020, you’ll find the 2024 version ready to install — no repurchase needed. For newcomers, a single purchase grants access to both platforms. PMDG has also submitted the 777F for Microsoft Marketplace release on both PC and Xbox, though that’s still subject to Microsoft’s approval timeline.
This release brings the heavy-hauler into the MSFS 2024 fold with a number of improvements under the hood. Notably, the update includes flight model and fly-by-wire refinements, optimizations, and bug fixes, along with a new weight and balance tool built into the aircraft tablet — mirroring what users have already seen in the 777-200ER. There’s also new SayIntentions.AI datalink integration, enabling interaction with the AI assistant tool directly from the cockpit.
For users still on MSFS 2020, there’s something in this update cycle as well. The 777F has received a refresh that brings it up to date with all the latest non-2024-specific changes, now accessible through the Operations Center. Likewise, the 777-200ER has been updated in both 2020 and 2024, with the MSFS 2024 version now fully compliant with Sim Update 2 and updated to build 2.4.108.
What’s next for the Triple Seven?
With the 200ER and 777F now updated and flying in MSFS 2024, attention turns to the PMDG 777-300ER. According to Robert Randazzo, the -300ER entered beta testing over the weekend and is tracking well. A final decision on release timing is expected later this week, with confidence pointing toward a public release before the end of May.
Following behind, the 777-200LR (77L) is already being readied for testing, with builds for both MSFS 2020 and 2024 anticipated to reach the beta team before the month is out.
Meanwhile, updates on the DC-6 and 737 series are still pending. PMDG says more information on those product lines should arrive sometime next week.
