iFlySimX has released a new tool aimed at helping simmers generate and manage realistic airline flight schedules. Called iFly Schedules, this is a web-based platform that provides simmers with the ability to plan flights based on real-world routes, offering a more immersive and organized experience.
iFly Schedules enables users to generate flight schedules by selecting airlines, aircraft types, flight lengths, and specific airports. With a user-friendly interface, this tool promises to help simmers replicate typical airline operations on their flight simulator of choice. Although the platform currently operates on static flight data, the developer has been very active in implementing new airlines and features, continuing to improve the overall experience.
The core capability of iFly Schedules is its Flight Schedule Generator, which allows users to create realistic schedules tailored to their preferences. The generator includes filters such as:
- Airline Selection: Choose from an increasing variety of airlines, including major carriers like British Airways, Delta, and Lufthansa.
- Aircraft Type: Filter flight schedules by specific aircraft models.
- Flight Length: The tool allows users to pick flights based on duration, ranging from short-haul flights (under one hour) to long-haul international journeys.
- Trip Type and Number of Legs: Users can set the type of trip, whether it’s a round-trip or continuous journey, and define the number of legs for each flight.
For those who prefer even more control, the tool offers the ability to search by departure and arrival ICAO codes, providing a more focused flight selection. Once a schedule is generated, users can save flights directly to their browser’s local storage, which will be integrated into a calendar for tracking upcoming flights.
Future Updates and Improvements
iFly Schedules is still in its early stages of development, with frequent updates planned to refine the platform, but it’s already very useful. Things are only going to improve, and Clement, the tool’s creator, has several plans for the future, such as the implementation of a profile system. This will allow users to save their flight schedules to a personal profile, which will make it accessible across multiple devices.

Additionally, while the data used in iFly Schedules is not pulled from a live API, the flight schedules are regularly updated to maintain relevance. The developer has mentioned that while real-time data could be a future goal, the high cost associated with API access makes it challenging for now. Instead, the platform relies on comprehensive but static data to provide a realistic flight simulation experience.
Integration with SimBrief, VAs, and Flight Sim Networks
One of the motivations behind iFly Schedules was the developer’s desire to streamline scheduling for Virtual Airlines and other flight sim networks such as VATSIM. The tool allows users to generate schedules that they can use across multiple VAs, eliminating the need to switch between different scheduling systems.
iFly Schedules also integrates directly with SimBrief, allowing users to create flight plans based on the selected route.
iFly Schedules is a very cool new tool for flight simmers looking for a more structured and realistic flight experience. While still in its early stages, the platform already offers a solid foundation for generating real-world flight schedules with a high level of customization. And it’s free!
