Hot on the heels of the 777 Immersion launch in July for Microsoft Flight Simulator, which greatly expanded the effects generated by the awesome PMDG 777, Parallel 42 is back with a new Immersion pack, this time dedicated to the Boeing 737!

737 Immersion is an all-in-one visual effects package designed specifically for the Boeing 737 airframe. Compatible with PMDG’s popular rendition and promising support for future offerings, this package brings an increased level of realism for simmers flying this aircraft in MSFS.

The package includes an impressive selection of 15 custom visual effects, including enhanced contrails, engine condensation, St. Elmo’s fire, and water droplets. These effects are not mere visual eye-candy; they respond dynamically to atmospheric conditions and flight parameters, creating a truly immersive experience.

In an industry where visual fidelity often comes at the cost of performance, Parallel 42 has made it clear that they’re not compromising. “Performance is our top priority,” states the company, highlighting that 737 Immersion has been rigorously flight tested to ensure it delivers maximum realism while maintaining frame rates.

Highlights of 737 Immersion

Among the standout features are the swirling contrails that paint the sky at cruising altitudes, and the mesmerizing condensation effects that bring wing vapor and flap vortices to life. The engine cold start effect is particularly noteworthy, creating visible clouds of condensation that make users “practically feel the cold.”

Another very cool addition is the St. Elmo’s fire effect. During severe thunderstorms at cruise altitudes, pilots can witness luminous electrical discharges dancing across their windshields, a very striking effect that still surprises pilots today.

Built on SimFX

737 Immersion is built on Parallel 42’s SimFX Framework, which is required for the new package to function. This framework provides not only stunning visual effects but also offers users a high degree of customizability through its interface.

737 Immersion is available now, priced at $15.00 USD.
