Roman Design has introduced a new add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator that promises to be a true playground for MSFS simmers. Named Vancouver Island Helipads & Seaplane Bases, it provides detailed scenery and various operational scenarios for helicopter and seaplane pilots, focusing on the unique geographical and urban elements of Vancouver Island.

Vancouver Island is known for its diverse natural beauty, featuring rugged coastlines, pristine beaches, and ancient rainforests. This new add-on from Roman Design allows virtual pilots to experience these landscapes in high detail, while offering plenty of challenging and interesting flying opportunities!

Varied Operational Scenarios

Roman Designs created this scenery with several potential missions in mind. The add-on offers a range of scenarios designed to engage MSFS pilots, including patient transfers between four hand-modeled hospitals, conducting medevac flights from a cruise ship, and engaging in search and rescue missions at three car accident scenes located along remote roads.

For routine operations, the pack includes six heliports for Coast Guard, government, and private flights. Notable locations include the Race Rocks Lighthouse Heliport and a helipad on a Coast Guard ship, all crafted with attention to detail and high-resolution textures.

There are also plenty of opportunities for VIP and recreational flights. Simmers can transport VIP passengers to a mansion helipad overlooking a lake or operate a helicopter from a yacht, adding diverse flight opportunities within the simulation.

Seaplane Bases and Water Aerodromes

Seaplane pilots are also catered for with four modeled water aerodromes and seaplane bases. These bases, such as Tofino Harbour and Ucluelet Water Aerodrome, offer pilots picturesque routes to explore Vancouver Island’s scenic waterways.
