Just as promised, Parallel 42 has released this weekend their A320 Immersion package for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This extension to the developer’s also recently released SimFX toolkit introduces a wide range of visual effects to all A320 models currently available for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Priced at $15 USD + taxes, this add-on promises to bring a new level of visual realism to your virtual A320 flights, whether you’re flying the default Asobo model, the latest iniBuilds A320neo, the payware Fenix A320, or even LatinVFR’s entire A320 family.
Parallel 42’s A320 Immersion package includes 17 custom visual effects. Here is the complete list:
- APU Heat Blur (Improved): Enhanced heat blur effects from the auxiliary power unit.
- Cloud Effects: Realistic interaction with clouds.
- Cloud Illumination: Dynamic cloud illumination effects.
- Contrails (Improved): Custom swirling contrails that react to atmospheric conditions.
- Engine Chine Vortices: Visible vortices formed on the engine nacelles.
- Engine Cold Start: Plumes of condensation and vapor during engine startups.
- Engine Condensation: Condensation effects around the engines.
- Engine Heat Blur (Improved): Enhanced heat blur from the engines.
- Engine Ingest Vortices: Vortices created during engine operation.
- Hot Brakes Smoke: Smoke effects from overheated brakes.
- Skid Marks (Improved): Realistic skid marks on the runway.

A320 Immersion is built on the SimFX framework, thus requiring that add-on to be installed in order to work. The SimFX framework provides a robust and customizable interface for these effects.
Parallel 42 promises high-quality visual effects with minimal impact on system resources, maintaining smooth gameplay and high frame rates. The official product page features plenty of stunning promotional shots, providing a good indication of what to expect.
There are some very impressive effects here, and we certainly hope that Parallel 42 will continue to offer customized packages for other popular airplanes!
A320 Immersion is available now from Parallel 42 and Contrail for $15 USD + taxes.
