FSDG continues to enrich the German scenery in MSFS with Landmarks of Schleswig-Holstein & Hamburg

It has been a while since FSDG graced us with one of their POI packs for the German territory in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Now, at last, following previous releases covering Lower Saxony and Bremen, Hesse, Thuringia, and Baden-Wuerttemberg, they’ve gone ahead and dropped another one this week. This time, they’re taking us to the True North of Germany with their latest pack focusing on Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg.

Schleswig-Holstein is the northernmost state in Germany, bordered by Denmark to the north, the North Sea to the west, and the Baltic Sea to the east. This provides a diverse range of landscapes to explore, from the flat marshlands of the west to the more rugged coastlines of the east. Hamburg offers a different kind of flying experience with its urban landscapes, port areas, and the Elbe River.

If you’re a VFR pilot who’s been yearning for a more authentic and detailed German flying experience, your prayers have been answered. The new pack brings more than 800 individual objects that range from castles and famous buildings to an assortment of towers and lighthouses. This is in line with FSDG’s commitment to providing a rich and realistic flying experience, as we’ve seen in their previous packs that covered other German states with thousands of landmarks.

FSDG’s Landmarks of Germany series has introduced a lot of diversity and attention to detail in the scenery. Not only does it include landmarks that are visually impressive, but it also incorporates structures that serve as practical navigation aids combining historical landmarks with modern infrastructures like solar parks and antennas.

With this new addition, FSDG is steadily making progress in their ambitious project to populate all 16 German states with VFR-friendly landmarks. It’s a massive undertaking, and they’ve been releasing these packs region by region, allowing pilots to gradually build a comprehensive German landscape in their simulators. At this rate, it will take a few years to get it all done, but it’s undoubtedly an impressive piece of work that simmers flying above Germany can certainly appreciate.

Landmarks of Germany: Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg is available now for MSFS, priced at 13,99€.
