Orbx releases LYPG Podgorica Airport for MSFS

It's one of the two main airports in Montenegro, Southeastern Europe.
by William Lee

Virtual pilots looking to explore Southeastern Europe have good reasons to be happy this month. The Italy/Malta World Update is just around the corner and, today, Orbx released a brand new airport in this Mediterranean region, in Montenegro. LYPG Podgorica Airport, one of the two main international airports serving the country, is now out on Orbx Direct.

Podgorica Airport comes to Microsoft Flight Simulator by the hands of independent developer Rasha Tucakov, who worked to deliver a detailed and authentic virtual version of this small airport. LYPG serves the capital city of Montenegro, Podgorica, with flights to Europe by airlines such as Ryanair, Wizz Air, Transavia, and Air Montenegro.

As the name implies, Montenegro is quite a mountainous country, so there’s not much flat land to build an airport. LYPG is located in one of the few places suitable enough for a relatively large airport, but still with lots of mountains around, which makes for some exciting procedures, such as a challenging circle-to-land visual approach to runway 18.
