(Update: Ford-class carriers too!) Indiafoxtecho releases two America-class ships for MSFS, meant as companions for the F-35

Update, January 29 – After the release of the American-class ships detailed below, Indiafoxtecho released this week three Ford-class supercarriers. These are highly detailed static ships are meant to be used as companions for the STOVL F-35B, just like the first package of American-class ships. Available through the usual vendors (Simmarket, Orbx, among others).

Indiafoxtecho recently released their depiction of the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II for MSFS, the sophisticated and versatile stealth fighter. That package includes three variants: the F-35A, with conventional takeoff and landing capabilities, the F-35B, capable of vertical landings, and the carrier-based F-35C. To make STOVL more exciting with the F-35B, Indiafoxtecho released this week a small package with two America-class ships, which are perfect to train the special capabilities of that particular model of the aircraft.

This “extra” package for the F-35 consists of detailed models of the USS America and USS Tripoli. These two America-class amphibious assault ships are designed to transport a Marine Expeditionary Unit using an assortment of aircraft capable of vertical takeoff and landing, such as helicopters and MV-22B Osprey, supported by Harrier II’s and F-35s.

Indiafoxtecho sees these as an interesting and relevant companion package for the F-35B. Although they are just two static models of the ships, you can spawn nearby, land on them, and use their location as waypoints. It would be great if they could be used as spawn points, but that’s not possible at this time.

The initial intention from Indiafoxtecho was to release these ships with the F-35, but ended up deciding to offer them separately and at an affordable cost. This allows the F-35 to be sold at a lower price and also enables easier and more flexible updates.

Indiafoxtecho also revealed that they’ve been working on Ford-class supercarriers, which should be released soon.

The American-class ships from Indiafoxtecho are now available for just around $6.00. You can find this package in Simmarket, Orbx, and other vendors.
