News tips and press releases
If you are a developer, a publisher, or a PR contact with something to announce, send it over. Release announcements, changelogs, screenshots, trailers, embargoed material, and early word on projects in progress are all welcome.
A few things that help:
- Tell us clearly whether the information is embargoed and until when. We honour embargoes we have agreed to.
- Send links to press assets rather than large attachments where you can.
- If you would prefer to speak on background or off the record, ask us before you send it. Those are agreements we make in advance, not labels that can be applied afterwards. The full explanation is in our editorial and ethics policy.
We read everything that arrives. We cannot cover everything that arrives.
Review units and review copies
We are always interested in hearing about products we might review, whether that is an aircraft, a scenery pack, a utility, or hardware.
Please note that receiving a review copy or a hardware unit does not guarantee that we will publish a review, that a review will be positive, or that we will cover the product at all. We do not accept conditions attached to review access, including approval over what we write or the right to see an article before it goes live.
Corrections
If we have published something inaccurate, we would rather hear about it and fix it than leave it standing.
Tell us which article, which detail is wrong, and what the correct information is. We correct factual errors promptly and add a note explaining what changed.
Advertising and partnerships
Interested in reaching our readers? We offer display and direct banner placements, newsletter placements, and Captain’s Club partner slots.
Details on formats, audience and rates are available on request.
Captain’s Club members
Questions about your membership, billing, a discount code that will not work, or anything else.
Everything else
Reader questions, feedback on the site, a technical problem with a page, or something that does not fit any of the above. Just tell us what is going on.
What we do not do
To save everyone time:
- We do not sell articles. Buying advertising, running an affiliate programme with us, or sending a review unit does not buy a news story or a favourable angle. Pitches offering payment for editorial placement will not get a reply.
- We do not accept guest posts or contributed articles from outside our credited contributors.
- We do not sell links or add links to existing articles in exchange for payment.
- We do not publish sponsored content dressed as news. If we ever run commercial content, it carries a label saying so.
Response times
We aim to reply within one to two working days. Time-sensitive news tips and corrections get looked at first. If you have sent something and heard nothing after a week, feel free to nudge us, because things do occasionally slip past.
