The Aerosoft/ToLiss A340-600 Pro continues to move quickly through its post-launch phase. Version 1.0.2 has just arrived, following the first update that landed in late March, and this one expands the aircraft’s hardware integration options while also tidying up some datalink and replay behaviour that early owners will be glad to see addressed.
What’s new in 1.0.2
The headliner on the features side is SayIntentions CPDLC support. For those using SayIntentions.AI as their ATC solution, CPDLC, the datalink system that lets pilots exchange ATC instructions via text rather than voice, can now be handled natively through the aircraft’s DCDU. Speaking of which, the DCDU itself also gets a real-world accuracy fix: a fifth line has been added to match the actual configuration, one of those details that’s easy to overlook at first but noticeable once you know it’s missing.
Hardware users get two useful additions. There’s now an LVAR to inhibit rotary acceleration, which matters if you’re using a physical FCU with encoders that don’t respond well to the default sensitivity settings. Aerosoft has also added data output for hardware MCDUs via their own interface, extending compatibility with external cockpit setups.
On the SimBrief side, there are two changes worth noting. You can now opt out of populating the INIT B page during import, giving more control over what gets filled in automatically. The “Always use SimBrief winds” option has also been removed, with SimBrief now the only wind data source.
Rounding out the new features is an LVAR for external replay tools to freeze system modelling, which should help third-party replay utilities interact more predictably with the aircraft’s simulation state.
Fixes and improvements
The fixes list is focused but covers some scenarios that would have caused real frustration in operation. The most significant is a correction for loss of MAN FLEX on engine failure during a FLEX takeoff, an edge case that rarely comes up but needs to be handled correctly. FCU button freezes after replay have also been addressed, as has an issue causing mouse clicks in the Navigraph EFB page to be silently ignored.
Chart download delays for new airports in the Navigraph EFB are improved, and the number of messages rejected by the ACARS system has been reduced. The “F-PLN DATALINK IN PROG” message will now clear automatically once the datalink completes, and input events during replay, such as terrain detection, are now properly inhibited to preserve system state.
