As announced earlier this week, SoFly has now released its rendition of Bristol Airport (EGGD) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The studio says this is its most detailed airport to date, reflecting the airport’s current infrastructure and layout.
Bristol Airport, a key hub in southwest England, serves airlines such as easyJet, Ryanair, Jet2, and TUI. According to the developer, the scenery has been created using a modern data set and includes recent infrastructure updates such as new terminals, parking areas, and updated taxiway signage.
SoFly claims the airport has been built with a next-generation ground system that enables high-resolution markings and surface transitions. The package also features full GSX integration, including a bespoke profile by Elton Hjalmarsson. Passenger movement through terminal doors is supported at walk-in stands. The developer states that the airport environment will include seasonal behaviours such as snow piles and active snow-plough operations during winter conditions, along with custom ambient audio throughout the terminal, apron, and tower.
This version is developed exclusively for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and requires Sim Update 3. SoFly notes that Sim Update 4 Beta is not supported at launch. Compatibility with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 was previously mentioned but cancelled earlier in the year, as outlined in SoFly’s September development update.
Bristol Airport is now available on the SoFly Store and iniBuilds Store for £13.99 (plus taxes).
