The team at Propair Flight has announced that it’s developing the Piper Cheyenne for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The news surfaced through a recent post on Propair’s official Discord server and confirms a rapid pace of development, with the aircraft already in beta testing.
The Piper Cheyenne series includes several variants of twin-engine turboprops developed by Piper Aircraft, known for their mix of performance and executive comfort. Among these, the later PA-42 models — such as the Cheyenne III and 400LS — were equipped with Honeywell (Garrett) TPE-331 engines, enabling cruise speeds exceeding 300 knots and service ceilings above 35,000 feet.
Only around 44 units of the Cheyenne 400LS were ever built, making it one of Piper’s rarest and most powerful designs. Its combination of high speed, long range, and pressurized comfort turned it into a unique alternative for corporate operators during the 1980s.
Propair has not yet shared screenshots, a feature list, or a release window for its upcoming simulation of the aircraft. However, they promise that they’ll be sharing preview images, videos, and feature details over the coming days and weeks.
At this stage, there’s no pricing or release information available. For now, it’s simply exciting to see another high-performance turboprop entering development for Microsoft Flight Simulator, especially one as distinctive and uncommon as the Piper Cheyenne 400LS.
We’ll continue to follow Propair’s progress and share new details as they emerge!
