Stop guessing your settings in MSFS! IslandSimPilot launches a cool Performance Manager

The promise is to give you a "performance logbook" that will catalogue your frames per second, frame time, CPU and GPU usage, including VRAM, record performance events, simulator context, and more, to help you get the best performance possible.

You probably know IslandSimPilot from his cool online flights but, most of all, from his expert analysis of Microsoft Flight Simulator performance, giving out important tips on how to enhance and optimize it for the best flight experience. Previously, he already had launched the IslandSimPilot Profile Manager that allowed you to easily create and manage MSFS settings profiles. That was one very useful add-on you could get for just 6,99$ USD, effectively preventing headaches like Microsoft’s server outages that make your settings disappear from the cloud, forcing you to rebind all your keys or lose all your settings. But now this new software takes one step ahead, into a more ambitious goal.

Flights

For 24,99$ USD, this application intends to help you understand how your flying can create a performance footprint you can analyze in order to further optimize your MS Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024, as well as your computer. Each flight can be recorded into a detailed logbook that will store your FPS, CPU and RAM usage, and many other parameters. Effectively, it builds a history of your flying performance, using different aircraft, sceneries, types and conditions of flight, but also settings and drivers. You can then compare all these flights individually or in groups, search for their performance history and even detect performance events.

Maps

Why would you want to do this? As the developer explains, “experience can change depending on the aircraft you fly, the airport you visit, your graphics settings, simulator updates, drivers, weather and even the phase of flight”. Indeed, all these are variables that condition your flying and no single preset of settings is “universal”. Using this data logbook the software gathers, you are able to observe what is more costly in a specific phase or type of flight and maybe adjust your settings accordingly. But this is done on your own flights, not from a benchmark you see someone else do. Of course, this involves a lot of trial an error, but this program promises to help you visualise those attempts with a log and even performance maps. Watch a nice tutorial here:

Again, IslandSimPilot Performance Manager is available for 24,99$ in a single purchase for both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024. If you are interested, you can get the add-on at the IslandSimPilot’s official website.
