Since it arrived last year, Jurassic World: Archipelago has been one of the more unusual things you can load up in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The archipelago is a sprawling fictional island chain with airstrips, heliports and points of interest scattered across terrain that the stock simulator map does not really know what to do with. Orbx has now released a free tool that takes most of the guesswork out of it.
The release is a freeware app for the stock EFB, available through Orbx Direct at no cost. Orbx says it puts the entire chain of islands at your fingertips, whether you are scouting for a landing spot or running cargo between the islands. The idea fits the way most people seem to fly this scenery, which is less about point A to point B and more about poking around a set of islands looking for cool stuff.
This is basically an interactive map of the archipelago that runs inside the default EFB in MSFS 2024. Orbx says it lets you locate all of the airports and heliports, along with key features and some dinosaur locations, which is the detail most readers will care about given what this scenery is. Two modes do the heavy lifting. A free slew mode lets you pan across the terrain manually to scout ahead and plan a route, and a live flight tracking mode shows your aircraft’s real-time GPS position. You toggle the tracking by clicking the arrow symbol in the lower right corner.
The base scenery has been out since around September 2025, and the experience has held up well, particularly in VR, where the scale of the islands and their inhabitants comes through in a way a flat screen struggles to capture. This new interactive map also pairs with the VFR charts and other material Orbx hosts on its dedicated Jurassic World: Archipelago site. Between the two, the islands go from a place you explore more or less by guesswork to one you can plan a flight around specific sights.
